第二,根据第一点,划定研究的范围、层次。研究范围与研究层次上的不确定,将有可能陷入难以驾驭论述脉络的局面。在必然涉及一般理论与具体案例之间关系(即如何从具体案例情境中能够得出上升到一般理论层面上的结论的问题)的案例分析中,如果不认真对待研究的范围和层次的问题,那么必将发生论述逻辑混乱的情况。 第三,要确定进行案例分析的框架概念。确定这种分析框架或分析概念的工作既可以通过寻找与某一问题相关的变量及这些变量之间的关系来进行,也可以梳理和界定有助于分析某一问题的概念来尝试。分析框架或分析概念的好坏将很大程度上决定案例分析的成功与否,以及其理论化程度的高低。 第四,构成所选案例的事实。由于观察者的立场、观点、重点及所定研究目的的不同,即便作为案例选择的是同样的“事实”,但所表述的“事实”必将不一样。总的来看,事实就是事实,但事实又是构成的。事实并不是“纯”客观的,这是因为,事实只有在人的一定视角下才具有作为事实的意义。但这并不是说案例的选定及构成是随意的。案例的选定要尽量满足如下要求:趣味性,为的是吸引读者;针对性,事实的构成必须围绕所要解决的问题;真实性,这是不得捏造事实的要求;典型性,这是所选案例在同类问题中要具备代表性的要求,这一点与通过案例分析所得结论的类推范围相关。 第五,寻找所要研究的问题与所选案例之间的逻辑联系。也就是说,围绕所要解决的问题,通过一定的视角或框架来梳理和考察案例,最后得出有意义的结论来。寻找这种逻辑联系就是逻辑推理的过程,这也是根据自己的立场对所观察的事实赋予意义的活动。只要以上各步骤中没有发生逻辑跳跃或错误,那么这里的结论将“自圆其说”并可以“任意发挥”了。 以上虽然不是“八股”式的硬性规定,每一个内容也未必都要在案例分析的论文中明确表述,但至少要作为案例分析的基本要求。 当然,由于本书作为案例教材,并没有遵循上述要求。只是由于这些年在毕业论文的指导及论文答辩中常常遇到相关问题,这里就借《组织理论与管理案例分析》出版之际发表一些自己的体会。 另外,本书在筹划阶段试图在案例的选取与分析上涉及组织理论中尽可能多的方面,然而由于时间、精力以及其他条件的限制,最终选取和分析的案例只覆盖了组织理论中比较重要的若干个部分,而有些很重要的部分的案例(如有关政策执行、战略管理、组织内制度演进等方面的案例)没能选定,只好在其他部分中零星地涉及相关内容,还待寻找机会来深入探讨。但是,组织理论终究是一个庞大的理论体系,其枝叶无法尽数,因此搞清其脉络走向,找准研究的用力点,择其中关键点进行案例分析与研究也不失为一种好办法。
